Hoping I learned something from my previous failures. . .

Well this is my 9th attempt but only my second blog that is appearing on here for critics review, but don't worry, although I've had all those missing posts my pulitzer prize winning blogs wont diminish in quality.
So tonight we took my wife's mother to the 'Mai-Kai' (which I will explain later for those who don't know what a 'Mai-Kai' is).  It was her birthday, Id say a special one but really all birthdays should be special.  Lets just say it was somewhere after her 34th, which in all honesty by looking at her you wouldn't think it was more than 1 or 2 after. I am a lucky man if looking at a mother lets you know where her daughter is headed.  My wife is beautiful now and looks like she's gonna stay that way for a while to come (Id say a long while to come but I don't want that to seem like I'm giving an indication at her mothers age, which like I said, couldn't possibly be more than 36 or 37).
Now I might as well get this out of the way, the 'Mai-Kai' is a polenisian restaurant and an experience that anyone visiting Ft. Lauderdale should make a point to dine there.  You pull into a tropical forest in the middle of an area with all tall bank buildings, hotels, strip malls and other normal business's of an industrial area.  This is a huge tiki hut separated from the rest of the area, and actually you feel as though your separated from the rest of the world.  Now I must warn you that if you have a pair of night vision goggles, it may be a good idea to throw them on as you enter so as not to bounce into walls, other people, or any random object that isn't alight with neon markers  It seems as though someone is trying to save a buck on the electricity bill by keeping the lights dim(which I'm not really sure where the word dim ends and the word off begins), but in reality it just adds to the exotic atmosphere.  We had 9 and 3/4 in our party, although JoJo has almost past that 1/4 mark, he wasn't quite there yet.  My daughter LuLu had that distrusting look in her eyes as though something was peculiar here and no one was letting her in on the secret, but she would find out soon enough.  We sat and ordered our meals.  Appetizers, dinners, and deserts.  The normal procedures at just about any restaurant you visit.  So we ate our appetizers and suddenly the lights dimmed.  Little Miss LuLu hopped into my arms because she realized that the conspiracy she was excluded from was about to reveal itself.  Much to her pleasure a group of dancers appeared 15 feet away on a stage.  Drums started beating, guitars began strumming, a voice began and a group of pint sized hula dancers began shaking their little hips and waving their arms.  LuLu lit up like a kid in a candy store.  Actually that is a poor analogy.  Imagine a kid in a candy store with a gang of Santa Clauses holding giant bags of puppies with oversized toys in their mouths which were then stuffed with candy and all wrapped in super soft blankys (which those who don't know super soft blankys are like baby crack for my daughter-now I'm not saying my daughter does baby crack, or actually real crack, or any crack at all for that matter.  That probably wasn't the best analogy either, but I'm sure you get the point-she was happy).  O.k. as more often than not I've again strayed from my story, lets pick up back pre-crack debacle.  So LuLu was happy, and since I had never been to this restaurant I was pretty darn stoked myself, but nothing compared to my little angel.  Her eyes locked on these extravagantly dressed dancers doing what was explained as authentic Tahitian, Samoan, and New Zealandan(?) dances.  She clapped along, she raised her arms when they did, she even began moving her little hips and shoulders.  It was probably one of the top couple cutest things I've ever seen.  To see pure joy on her face made me immeasurably happy, kind of warm and fuzzy all over.  I seldom experience that type of joy, and the times I do I'm sure my wife would not be at all happy if I detailed what was happening.  Now for the entire hour she kept her attention squarely on those dancers.  I cant keep her mothers attention on an action movie for longer than seven and a half minutes, and my one year old daughter made it an hour.  It was awesome.  I could probably go into elaborate details at how amazing it was, but why?  It was awesome, no better word for it.  Now after dinner we picked up the bill because it was my mother-in-laws birthday, and let me say this now, she may be my mother-in-law but that's not how I look at her.  I look at her like my mom.  She treats me as one of her own and I care for her as though I've called her mom my whole life.  I am in no way saying she is a replacement for my mom because I love my mom dearly, I am just lucky enough to have two mom's that I care for with all my heart.  So we paid the bill and I looked at my wife's face and it had that same look of joy that my daughters did during the dancing.  I am blown away daily that I actually fall more and more in love with my wife.  Just when I think there is no possible way I can love this woman anymore, something as simple as this happens and my heart grows just a little bigger.  See, she was so happy because she did something nice for someone else.  She wasn't happy because she was taken to a nice restaurant.  That sounds wrong.  She was happy for that, but that look of joy was for the other reason.  I figured out then that I need to make millions.  Not to spoil my wife with lavish gifts but to be able to do great things for other people, if for no other reason than to see that happiness on my wife's face.  I would go the rest of my life without if I had to just I to have the ability to see that look as often as possible.  I never thought I would say that.  I have always been sort of a. . .well for lack of a better description, sort of a selfish ass.  But that's not how I feel since I married my wife. I'm willing to sacrifice whatever I have to in order to keep her happy.  That actually sounds a little weak.  She is almost always happy, but its that ecstatic look of pure elation that I'm speaking of.  I'm also not trying to give the impression that it would take money to get that look, because it could happen from something as simple as a nice deed for an old lady at the mall.  I guess what I'm trying to say is that my wife is flat out amazing.  There are those people in this world that are special.  Now not special and that aww she's special, just smile and nod.  No shes special in that way that makes people feel good to be around her.  She listens when you speak to her, not just wait for her turn to speak.  I wish I was a better writer so that I was able to really explain more about what I mean, but unfortunately Im not so everyones just going to have to take my word on it and I will just get to know first hand. Haha, sucks to be you.

Well for the millions of people not following me Im sure there has been a slight FUBAR with my new, soon to be world famous blog.  This is labeled 'My Second Blog'.  There is no first blog and to be frank the blog gods smiled down on me to be able to figure out how to write this one.  (Im sure it was extremely simple and I sound like a complete dolt).Otherwise I would have had a library of blogs labeled 'My Second Blog' through 'My GD effin 100th gorgeously labeled blank page blog'.  Now that I've explained myself to my terribly understanding followers.
Now I suppose I should tell a touch about myself just in case some unfortunate person does happen to stumble upon this page and is tempted to call the authority's because theyve discovered what could only be described as the ramblings of a madman, or simply as I think of myself, 'The luckiest man in the world'.  Im sure I will eventually get around to some rather. . .low parts of my days, but for now, so that I dont get bored and stop reading, Ill try to keep it upbeat.
I am a happily married man, which at one point in my life - well I guess I shoulnt call it one point as in a specific moment.  More like one point that was stretched about 15 years, but like I was saying, at that extended point I didnt seem the marrying type.  That point in my life literally ran right up to the second my eyes fell upon my wife.  Fell upon her eyes?  Eventually.  Her smile?  Mmm her smile.  I still hardly dare stare directly at that smile for fear Ill lose my breath and not recover.  Her calves?  Her knees?  Her thighs?  Her. . .back?  Yeah Id say all of the above.  More so, a list including feelings Ive yet to discover how to put into words that exist.  (Ive called Websters numerous times to try to get some of the words Ive come up with inserted into the Dictionary for the English language, but for some reason they found it humorous and eventually requested I stop calling).  Sorry, I digress a little.  I was never a romantic, unless it could benefit me at that exact moment of course, then my words closely resembled Romeo of the Montagues. . .except mine were a little more poetic. But at that point when my eyes were blessed with the gift of seeing her I knew love at first sight.  No, no, Im serious.  Like the corny movies were made about and sappy songs were written about.  Nicholas Sparks has made a fairly good living off of books about it.  Well I felt it.  Now at this point there should be some eye rolling and laughing, maybe a few comments such as, "fag" or "homo" .  Please believe me if having that feeling that day and every day since makes me a laughing matter, then being a joke is absolutely my pleasure.  Love at first sight!?  I mean wow, to this day I am still speechless, breathless even when I think about it.  There are so many things in my life that had to happen in order for that one second to be.  Eventually I will get to the unbelievable events that were actually 10 years in the making.  10 years in advance events for that one second were set into motion.  Actually it could have been way before that.  You know like they say, a butterfly flaps its wings in Texas and they have a Tsunami in Thailand 15 years later.  Now Im not sure if it was a butterfly or a belch by a fat Scottish man in a kilt that began those events.  All I know is I'd like to throw out a quick thanks to them both.  Again I have completely digressed from my original train of thinking.  Just for clarification, my thinking really shouldnt be described as a train.  Its more like a subway car that changes tracks a million times without noticing or being alerted and instead of ending up on the east side of town in the pretty park you end up on the south side with no real clue how you had gotten there.  Back to my subway car and the track that led me to my title as 'The luckiest man in the world'.
So I had just laid eyes upon my future wife, true love, love at first sight, yada yada yada.  If youve already forgotten the above details dont bother going back and rereading, just put your protective helmet back on and sit down so you dont hurt yourself.  Ok so I finally caught my breath, well not quite completely.  Even to this day,  because of course she is my wife and still has that bewildering effect on me.  Now to my dismay, since this had never been an issue, she did not have that same result when first seeing me.  Actually her feelings were not only not on that level they were pretty close to the polar opposite.  I thought for days and days and heavily considered giving up.  Right when I had almost given in and called it quits I shook myself and said, "what the hell are you thinking?  She's worth changing your life for!  Actually shes worth changing this life and the next thousand life's for, and your just going to give up? Nope, time to man up.'  As horribly cheesy as that sounds I had that conversation out loud in the mirror with myself, while my father, almost as if planned, silently appeared in the doorway to enjoy the heated argument I was having with myself.  When I had finished, pleased with myself for winning the argument, I told myself, ' now go get her Jason', I turned to see a lightly chuckling father who kindly offered a ride to the loony bin if I required.  I declined, but told him I may need a rain check because if this woman wont marry me and spend every day for the rest of my life with me I may very well lose my mind without her.
Now, I was going off of my impression this whole time, not realizing that I had slightly hedged my impression a certain way.  See, she is a gorgeous, smart, funny, sexy, talented, intimidating woman that I assumed I had absolutely no hope of ever being in her life, let alone her heart.  But I swallowed my fear, put my big boy pants on and went straight to her.  I told her that I was putting everyone else out of my life.  No more girls, or clubs or any of that.  She stopped me and told me to just stop, I wouldnt be willing to put in the work..  I asked her to please let me finish.  I told her that I know we hadnt known each other that long, and Im not sure exactly what her feelings are about me but I would change my entire world for her.  I told her I want to marry her, that there was no one in this world that I could imagine spending an entire day with, let alone my entire life.  I told her that I had always promised myself that if I were to get married I was only going to do it once, and that once was for life, and I wanted that life to be with her.  To my utter dismay she actually said yes.  She wanted to be my wife!  Ive thanked god every day since, and she has amazed me every day since. Every morning my breath is taken away when I wake up next to her and realize its not a dream.  Every night I pray that when I wake the next morning it will be as real as it was the morning before.  I know in my heart that not everyone gets to feel the way I feel about her.  The majority of people have a settling love.  A love that they have sort of just accepted as their life.  My love is grateful love, a frightening love, an overpowering love.  A love that I feel sorry for everyone else that they more than likely will never get to experience a love like it.  It actually grows more deeply every day.  My first blog is about my wife and my love for her.  There will be many more about her.  Some may be after we've fought, some after we've. . . .made up.  But they will always end with I love you Rayna, if you're reading.
